For ten
years, Jesse has been creating, studying and performing in the styles of Clown,
Bouffon and physical theatre. He
attended Canterbury Arts High School, where he was a two-time, silver
medallist in the Canadian High School Improv Games. Jesse has also
studied extensively at the internationally renowned L’École Philippe
Gaulier in Paris, France, and has trained with numerous other North American
instructors.
Jesse
was one of the founding members of Counternotes Theatre Group (and sat on
the Artistic Board), where he collectively created over twelve shows, playing in
Clown, Mask, Commedia D’ell Arte, Bouffon and Absurdism.
Jesse is
a veteran performer of with Ottawa’s premiere outdoor theatre company,
Odyssey Theatre. Most recently,
he was the principal actor in Odyssey’s 2005 production of Molière’s
Scapin. He has also played many
wonderful supporting characters in the company’s workshops and main stage
productions
Jesse is
also a creative member in the Ottawa collective troupe Theatrophy, and
with them has performed at the Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC) for
the 2005 Magnetic North Festival, at the 2006 Toronto Festival of
Clowns, and at the Edmonton Fringe Festival.
Jesse
is excited to bring his one-man show Bubkus to the Toronto Festival of
Clowns.
