Jennifer McNaughton

Jennifer McNaughton is a Toronto actress, creator and clown who has performed in English and French, on stages from Ottawa to Winnipeg.  Her clown Miladie has appeared in various Toronto cabarets and is featured in her solo show, Three-Ply Issues (performed at the Ottawa and Toronto Fringe festivals; and as part of the 2006 Toronto Festival of Clowns).  Other clown work includes playing the role of Marilyn in Jane Gilchrist's acclaimed physical comedy Primal Broads, also seen in the Festival.
 
Some favourite acting credits include the role of Nora in A Doll's House, and Mommy in The American Dream (Redeemer Studio Theatre).  Recent credits include co-creating and performing in Finding Father's Dark Side at

the Festival of Original Theatre, and playing Mrs. Elton in a staged adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma .
 
Comedy work inclues various shows at the Second City, including Lisa Merchant's March of Dames, Ecclectic Circus,  and the Fresh Meat showcase.  She also performs children's theatre on an ongoing basis with CNG Productions.
 
Jennifer has a degree in Theatre from Redeemer University in Ancaster, ON.  She has studied improvisation with the Second City, clowning with Sue Morrison and Mike Kennard, and Shakespeare with Soulpepper Theatre Company and Equity Showcase.  She has also trained with Fiona Griffiths, Grindl Kuchirka, Sears & Switzer and Walter Alza.
